It is our mission to provide a peaceful, comfortable setting to offer professional, complementary health options to the general public.
This is a Community Class, with a variety of general lessons that are suitable for most participants, from beginner to experienced student. The movements in a Feldenkrais class are relaxing and non-stressful. Each class will feature a different Feldenkrais lesson. The lessons use gentle movements that are slow and with minimal effort so as to promote attention to your own sensations and experience. Some have described it as a moving meditation. The teacher guides the class verbally, and each person is encouraged to go at their own pace.
Please email kshavin@gmail.com to register (drop-in or series) or for more information regarding this class. Cost: $200 for the series of 11 classes or $20/class for drop-ins. Register online.
NOTE: Walk-ins are welcome if space is available. The class will be cancelled if insufficient enrollment. To encourage advanced registration, payment at the door will $15, cash only.
Late-arrivals are not permitted, so please come a few minutes early.
Who is the teacher?
There will be a variety of teachers, all of whom are graduates of a 4 year Feldenkrais teacher-training program, so that you can experience different styles of teaching. Please call or email one week in advance if you need to know who is teaching on a particular date.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
This is a class for adults.
Are there physical restrictions to participate?
The class is suitable for almost everyone. That said, many of the lessons are done lying on a mat on the floor. If getting up and down is a problem, lessons can be adapted to sitting in a chair or even done in the imagine. Movements are gentle; we encourage you to do less to get the most benefit from the lesson.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
There is a small parking lot just outside the classroom and additional parking on the street. There is a light rail stop about a mile from the site and a walking path from the station to our building.
What do I need to bring to the class?
Mats are provided for your convenience. Please bring a towel for under your head.
Do I need to wear special clothes?
Dress in loose clothing that allows you to move without restriction. Wear layers as it can be chilly when lying on the floor.
